Meet the Permanent Herd
Mark and Amy Meyers’ animals, affectionately known as “the Permanents”, are a cherished and lasting part of their property. This group includes mini donkeys, a pony, standard donkeys, impressive mammoth donkeys, and two mules, each with their own unique personality. At the front of the property, you’ll find Izzy, the donkey that started it all, welcoming visitors and setting the tone for the rest of the crew. Here are a few of the donkeys you will find on the ranch:

Izzy

Sidewinder

Jack

Alexis and Tiara

Romeo – The only pony on the ranch
Our Mules
In 2002, Mark and Amy rescued Mike the Mule. That was the start of what would become a long list of rescued mules. In 2019, Mark launched the Lost Meadows Mule Refuge as a division of the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue. He then helped establish it as its own 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Now with the accumulation of over 20+ mules of our own, it is time to announce the establishment of the Peaceful Valley Mule Rescue. This will become a division of the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue once again. While our main focus will remain on donkeys, it is inevitable that we will bring in more mules from time to time, especially those that have been mistreated or are hard to handle
