Not all of the donkeys that PVDR rescues are ready to enter into our adoption training program. Some need time to adjust to domestic life, others might need time to heal from emotional scars. Our sanctuaries are typically around 100 acres and hold 100 donkeys. The donkeys still receive hoof trimming every 10 weeks, twice a year de-worming and annual vaccines and dentals. The sanctuaries are located throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
